Super Lawyers, a Thomson Reuters business, is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The annual selections are made using a patented multiphase process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, an independent research evaluation of candidates and peer reviews by practice areas. The result is a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of exceptional attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel.
The selection process for Rising Stars is the same as the Super Lawyers process except that candidates for Rising Stars must either be 40 years old or younger or have been practicing law for 10 years or less. No more than 2.5 percent of the lawyers in the Mid-South are selected by Rising Stars.
