Evans Petree PC announces today that the firm’s 2017 Board of Directors members have elected new Board officers for this year.
The results of the election are as follows:
- Joseph T. Getz, Chairman of the Board (past Board member)
- Caren Beth Nichol, President (past Board member)
- Michael R. Marshall, Secretary
- Richard E.M. Nichol, Jr., Treasurer
The other 2017 Evans Petree Board members are E. Woods Weathersby (past Board President), Daniel T. Robinson, Jr. (past Board member), Brian L. Yoakum, and M. Andrew Wohlfarth.
Evans Petree’s outgoing President, E. Woods Weathersby, has dedicated 15 years of leadership service to the firm. He has guided the firm through a move, several mergers, and growth from twelve to now forty-five attorneys. Mr. Weathersby focuses his practice on banking/commercial lending and real estate law. He has been recognized in several national publications for his real estate and banking law practice, including Chambers USA, Super Lawyers Magazine, and The Best Lawyers in America. He is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
Joseph T. Getz leads the Construction and Surety Law Practice Group and has focused his practice exclusively on construction and surety bond contract claims for more than 25 years. He has handled construction disputes at all levels of trial and appellate litigation as well as in mediation, arbitration and other ADR procedures. Mr. Getz holds an AV rating from Martindale-Hubbell, has been included in the Mid-South’s Super Lawyers list in the field of construction law for six consecutive years, and was selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2017 in the fields of construction law and construction litigation for the tenth year.
Caren Beth Nichol focuses her practice on family law, litigation/dispute resolution, and private client services. She received the Sam A. Myar, Jr. Memorial Award for service to the community and the Bar Association, named a Family Law Power Player in MBQ Magazine, is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell, and was selected by her peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America 2017 in the field of commercial litigation for the fifth year. Ms. Nichol has also been included in the Mid-South’s Super Lawyers list in the field of family law as well as listed by Super Lawyers as one of the top 50 Women Lawyers in the Mid-South.
