The Construction and Surety Law Practice Group provides representation to owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, sureties, architects and engineers in all facets of the construction and design industry.
The Construction and Surety Law Group has the depth and experience to represent clients in a number of practice areas related to all aspects of both public and private construction. Our attorneys represent a diverse mix of owners, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, design professionals and sureties. We counsel clients throughout the construction process, assisting clients in identifying and managing risks and potential claims, and resolving disputes in a cost-effective manner. Our attorneys have represented clients on projects of all sizes, including airports, public arenas, office towers, hotels, commercial buildings, industrial plants, condominiums and individual residences. The group’s attorneys regularly assist construction and design clients with matters such as breach of contract, construction defects, defects in plans and specifications, differing site conditions, scope disputes, change order disputes and delay, acceleration and inefficiency. Our attorneys have substantial experience in complex construction projects, and our firm is technologically geared to electronically manage document-intensive disputes that can occur on such projects.
This group also specializes in the drafting of a full range of custom construction contracts including owner-builder agreements, design-build agreements, design professional agreements, construction management agreements and subcontracts. We also assist our clients in the negotiation of terms and provisions of form contracts such as the AIA, AGC and CONSENSUS DOCS contract documents.
In our Surety practice, we represent clients with payment and performance bond claims and provide sureties with assistance in pre-default investigations, default, take-over agreements, and indemnity claims.
We also provide owners, contractors, subcontractors, design professionals and sureties with dispute resolution services in mediation, arbitration, litigation and appellate practice.
